This lovely agamid lizard, native to southeast Asia, grows to two to three feet in length. The moderate size, coupled with its calm demeanor are qualities that rank this species as highly desirable in captivity. Though not prolific breeders, they do breed readily in captivity. These lizards love water and should have access to water that is large enough for them to swim. They should also be provided a basking area with warmth and full spectrum lighting. Although they will occasionally eat some fruit or other plant material, this species mainly eats insects, snails, fish, and small mice.
