The Ringed Python is a beautifully colored species that rarely reaches five feet in length. Its native range is throughout the Bismarck Archipelago but it does not occur on New Guinea. Juveniles are more attractively colored than the adults as the bright orange coloring fades with age. Mainly terrestrial, this species feeds mostly at night. Small mammals, such as mice, should be fed.
